Arizona Grandparent Ambassadors Summit

In Arizona, more than 100,000 kids are being raised by their grandparents. Grandparents - and other adult relatives - step in because the parents are disabled or have died, are in prison, or perhaps suffer from mental illness, substance abuse or other issues that make them unable to care for their children.

Children's Action Alliance and the Center for Economic Integrity are hosting a free conference to bring together families from across the state who are experiencing the joys and challenges of raising their grandchildren. This forum will allow grandparents, elected leaders and service organizations to come together to discuss problems and solutions, and to build community.

Many grandparents face challenges with housing, transportation, child care and afterschool care, and health care for themselves and their grandkids. A range of recent state budget cuts have made it harder for grandparents to get basic assistance to keep their families intact.

Registration is free but seating is limited. Lunch and child care are also provided free of charge!
