Debunking the Myth: Our Lived Experience Alone is Enough
Webinar sponsored by Great Lakes Addiction Technology Transfer Center (ATTC).
This third webinar of a four part series will describe the importance and value of the “lived experience” of Persons in Addiction Recovery (PIR) and how this helps prepare them for roles within Recovery Oriented System of Care (ROSC). The facilitator will define the fundamental principles of Motivational Incentives, HIT, and SBIRT. These Evidence Based and Best Practices, when combined with “lived experiences”, better prepares PIR to assist others in achieving health wellness and long-term recovery.
The webinar is facilitated by David Whiters, Ph.D. who self-identifies as a person in long-term addiction recovery. He earned his Ph.D. in social work at the University of Georgia twenty-five years after beginning his recovery. He is the founder and former Executive Director of Recovery Consultants of Atlanta, Inc., a preeminent faith-based, peer led Recovery Community Organization and HIV prevention program. Receive two (2) CEUs.
