IOM Report Brief: Living Well with Chronic Illness
A study commissioned in 2010 by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention help identify public health actions to reduce disability and improve quality of life in people with chronic illness and those at high risk.
Depression and schizophrenia are identified in the Institute of Medicine’s Report on Living Well with Chronic Illness: A Public Call to Action. The IOM’s report highlights the pervasive and debilitating nature of these illnesses along with other chronic illnesses including Type 2 diabetes, arthritis, and others.
