Specialty Courts in Arizona Work

The Arizona Association of Drug Court Professionals (AADCP) hosted a conference to provide information about the state’s Adult, Juvenile, and Family Drug Courts, and DUI Courts on Thursday, May 19 from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Arizona State University Downtown Phoenix Campus. Arizona Specialty Court Conference - "Back to Basics and Beyond,” is a statewide forum for updates and discussions about issues related to treatment and prevention programs in the urban and rural communities.
 
The conference included presentations from Arizona’s Specialty Courts Graduates, as well as Denny Seiwell, former drummer for Paul McCartney and drug court graduate.
 
Speakers included:

    * Supreme Court Justice Robert M. Brutinel
    * Dr. Michael Shafer, Professor in the School of Social Work
    * Judge Robert Russell of the Buffalo Veterans Treatment Court
    * US Attorney Dennis Burke, and
    * C. West Huddelston III, Chief Executive Officer of National Association of Drug Court Professionals.
