About Summer Institute

The Center for Applied Behavioral Health Policy Annual Summer Institute

Each July, CABHP hosts more than 350 influential professionals from Arizona’s private and public human service agencies at a 4-day event at the Hilton Sedona Resort to hear the best, most relevant speakers and presenters in the field of behavioral health.

A consistent sell-out, Summer Institute has a thirteen year history of providing excellent messaging platforms for new and emergent state and federal policies and programmatic approaches. Agency and nonprofit managers, supervisors, and practitioners from the fields of mental health, substance abuse, child welfare, and criminal justice will find a diverse array of nationally recognized speakers, over fifty breakouts sessions, and other activities including:

  • The Arizona Behavioral Health Leadership Awards given to individuals throughout the state for their significant contributions to the improvement, access, and impact of behavioral health care. Previous awardees include legislators, judges, CEO’s, community activists, and other advocates of excellence in behavioral health.

For 2012 the theme is Mission Wellness: Business and Service Alignment for Health Outcomes. Keynote speakers and breakout sessions will focus on collaboration and interagency coordination, administration and leadership, service integration, clinical practice, youth and family services, cultural competence, and crisis intervention. A complete schedule can be found here. All sessions offer CEUs. A sample of previous year’s programs can be found here.

Information on registration for 2012 beginning May 8 is available here.
