Pacific Southwest Addiction Technology Transfer Center
In partnership with UCLA, CABHP helps meet the needs of the substance abuse treatment communities in Arizona and California.
Funding: The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
Partners: UCLA Integrated Substance Abuse Programs (ISAP).
Program Description: The Pacific Southwest ATTC works to increase collaboration, spread knowledge, and inform public policy related to drug and alcohol treatment across Arizona and California. Its goal is to expand the availability of effective treatment and recovery services for individuals with alcohol and drug problems in a culturally competent manner. It accomplishes this goal through development of training, events, and products related to substance abuse treatment; information dissemination; workforce development; curriculum development; and technical assistance to service providers.
CABHP's Role: CABHP does all of the work of the Pacific Southwest ATTC in Arizona, while ISAP serves California. We develop and disseminate educational materials and resources that address pertinent policy issues, emerging research, and the latest evidence supported practices for professionals in the field. Training academies, conferences and institutes, including the annual Summer Institute each July held in Sedona, Arizona are provided to enhance the skills of behavioral health, primary care, child welfare and criminal justice service practitioners.
Partnerships to improve the quality of and access to behavioral health services have been established with numerous agencies, organizations and community providers including: the Arizona Department of Health Services/Division of Behavioral Health Services, AZ Association of Drug Court Professionals, AZ Coalition to End Homelessness, AZ Foundation for Behavioral Health, AzAADAC, Community Partnership of Southern Arizona, Health Start, MATforce/Youth Count, Pascua Yaqui Tribe, Phoenix Children’s Hospital-Care Connect AZ, Phoenix Area Indian Health Service, San Carlos Apache Tribe, TERROS, and Valley of the Sun United Way.
