Recovery Community Services Program - Peer to Peer Recovery Support Services

CABHP monitors implementation, provides feedback, and evaluates outcomes of a peer-based program to connect homeless people in Maricopa County with treatment for substance use disorders and other needed services.

Funding:  SAMHSA/CSAT grant supports the project; Community Bridges contract to CABHP for evaluation and technical assistance services.

Program Description: Community Bridges is a licensed behavioral health provider that operates several facilities in Maricopa County.  Community Bridges received a federal SAMSHA grant to implement the Peer Recovery Support Program (PRSP) for homeless individuals in Phoenix.  The Peer Support Specialists (Community Bridges staff) will provide outreach, engagement, support services and assistance with accessing other community services.  Peer Support Specialists also will attempt to re-engage clients if relapse occurs.  Participation in the program will last for up to 52 weeks.  Under contract to Community Bridges, CABHP is conducting an evaluation of the program and providing technical assistance.

CABHP's Role:  To provide evaluation technical assistance services.
