15th Annual Phoenix Area IHS Integrated Behavioral Health Conference: “Building Healthy and Safe Communities was held May 15-17th, 2018 at ASU West.

"Whether you work with a Tribal, Urban, IHS program or valued behavioral health partner, we hope that the presentations, discussions, and opportunities to meet up with friends and colleagues will help recharge your batteries and enrich the important work you perform in promoting healthy and safe communities.

The integration of Mental Health, Substance Abuse, and Social Services as well as technical support for Methamphetamine Suicide Prevention Initiative (MSPI) and Domestic Violence Prevention Initiative (DVPI) grants and awards at the Phoenix Area allows us to collaborate in offering technical assistance, hosting conference calls, and developing educational opportunities such as this conference. Our team is very fortunate to collaborate with the great folks from Arizona State University’s Center for Applied Behavioral Health Policy for conference planning, registration, and CEU accreditation. Conference presenters come from IHS, ASU, and many other exceptional programs and places.

We all share a growing enthusiasm as attendance increases year by year. Your feedback is absolutely vital to us, so that we can aim to address your educational and professional development needs in the coming years. We’re already starting to envision the 2019 conference (hopefully to be held in February or March of 2019 before the heat sets in!)

If you should have questions or need assistance during the conference, ASU staff at the registration desk are available to help. The Phoenix Area Integrated Behavioral Health team- Derek Patton (Division Director), Elise Leonard (Mental Health/FASD Consultant), Macarthur Lucio (Social Work Consultant), Thomas Walter (MSPI/DVPI Project Officer), Terry McDowell (Program Specialist), and Luis Burrows (Analyst Assistant) will be on site throughout the conference to assist as well.

If this is your first time to this conference, we’re very excited to welcome you. For those who have attended in past years, welcome back and thanks for spreading the word. Enjoy!"
