Michael Shafer recognized with Founder's Day Faculty Achievement Service Award

Founders' Day, Arizona State University's signature event, will honor alumni, philanthropists, faculty and staff members. This annual event will bring the ASU community together to celebrate and recognize individuals who are actively engaged in transforming the field of health services, including one of CoPP's own, Michael S. Shafer.

Shafer, School of Social Work professor and director of the Center for Applied Behavioral Health Policy, will be recieving the Faculty Achievement Service Award for his impact on the health solutions field, and his service work related to behavioral health policy and practice. His overwhelming expertise in systems design and delivery of community mental health care, substance abuse treatment, child welfare, and criminal justice programs for people with behavioral health disabilities, such as mental illness and substance abuse, has earned Dr. Shafer state and nationwide recognition throughout his illustrious academic and professional career.

Join us in celebrating Dr. Shafer and his accomplishments at this year's Founder's Day celebration.
